Structural Engineer

GMA Engineering has an exciting opportunity for a Structural Engineer to work on a multibillion dollar mega project in NYC in a Design Management Role.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Participation in coordination meetings with contractors, construction managers, and project stakeholders

• Tracking and reviews of contractor submittals and RFIs, ability to delegate work, and follow up with responsible parties

• Development and review of designs and detailed design drawings

• Development and review of project specifications, design calculations, and design criteria

• Coordination of design review activities and ability to prioritize work based on construction critical pathways to meet aggressive project schedules

• Flexibility to wear many hats on a diverse variety of tasks

 

Minimum  Qualifications:

• BE or BS in Structural Engineering

• PE in New York State

• 4 years of industry experience in bridges and/or transportation projects

• Aptitude in AutoCAD, MicroStation, MS Office

• Finite Element Modeling Experience in MIDAS, LARSA, SAP

• Familiarity with AASHTO, ACI, and AISC codes

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• ME or MS in Structural Engineering

• Programming ability in excel using VBA and/or advanced formulas

• Experience performing inspections and providing resident engineering services

• Experience and Aptitude to lead and teach junior engineers

• Self Motivated nature and willingness to learn, continue professional development, and participate in industry events
